Pot of Gold Craft

Materials

  • Pot of gold printable (available for download below)
  • Colored paper- green and blue
  • Markers- black and green
  • Tissue paper- rainbow colors (unless you’re coloring your rainbow, then you only need yellow)
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Instructions

First download the pot of gold printable (available for download below) and print it out on regular printer paper.

Color the shamrock on the pot of gold green and the pot black.

If you’re coloring your rainbow instead of using tissue paper, you can do that at this point too.

Cut out the pot of gold and the rainbow.

Next, glue the rainbow to the piece of blue paper, about two inches from the top of the page, aligning the right side of the rainbow with the right edge of the blue paper.

Cut pieces of tissue paper into small squares or rectangles in all the colors of the rainbow.

Working in small sections, begin covering your rainbow with tissue paper.

First, cover a section in glue, crinkle pieces of tissue paper, and stick them to the glue until each section is covered.

Now it’s time to make the rolling hills beneath the rainbow. Cut two pieces of green paper the width of your blue paper. The top of each should have a slight wave and the bottom of the shorter piece should be flat to match the bottom of the blue paper.

First glue the bigger of the two pieces to the blue paper, aligning the top so that it covers the very bottom of the rainbow.

Next, glue the second piece to align with the bottom of the glue paper. It should be tall enough to overlap with the other piece of green paper.

Glue the pot of gold to the green paper just below the rainbow, leaving enough space for the pieces of gold.

Cut small pieces of yellow tissue paper, crinkle them up, and glue them directly above the pot to look like pieces of gold. Place a few on the ground to look like pieces of gold that have fallen out of the pot.
