Bee Handprint Craft
Materials
- Bee printable (download for free below)
- Yellow tissue paper or construction paper
- Black paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Googly eyes (*optional- you can use the paper ones included in the printable)
- Black pipe cleaner
Instructions
Download and print out the bee template (available for download at the bottom of this page). Cardstock will make the bee sturdier, but the craft works perfectly fine with regular printer paper as well.
Cut out small pieces of yellow tissue paper (about 1 x 1 inch squares).
Cover the bee’s head with a layer of glue and begin sticking pieces of crinkled tissue paper to it.
Next, add glue to each strip on the bee’s body one by one and cover with crinkled tissue paper.
Once you’re finished with the tissue paper, cut out around the outline of the bee.
Take your black paper and cut out the outline of your child’s hand.
Cut out their handprint and glue it to the back of the bee’s body so that the fingers stick out like wings.
Cut a small piece off the end of your pipe cleaner for the bee’s mouth. Glue the googly eyes and mouth onto the bee’s face. If you don’t have googly eyes, you can use the paper eyes included in the template.
Take the rest of your pipe cleaner and fold it into a V, making a circle at each end.
Use tape to secure the base of the pipe cleaner antennae to the back of the bee’s head.
Now your craft is complete! And isn’t it the cutest little bee you ever did see?
