What is it about penguins that is so cute and cuddly? Well, with this easy penguin tissue paper craft your child can make their own adorable penguin with materials you likely already have on hand!
All you need is our free printable and some black and orange tissue paper to make this simple craft. In addition to just being fun, working on this craft is a great way to build fine motor skills and focus in young children.
This is a perfect craft to do with preschoolers or elementary children at home or in the classroom.
Easy penguin tissue paper craft
Materials
- Penguin printable (available for download below)
- Tissue paper (black and orange)
- Scissors
- Glue
- Colored paper (optional, for background)
Instructions
First, download and print the penguin printable. You can download the printable for free at the bottom of this page.
Take your black and orange tissue paper and cut it up into small pieces (about 1 x 1 squares, but you can have some bigger and some smaller, this isn’t exact). You will only need a few pieces of orange tissue paper, but a lot of black tissue paper.
Working on one section at a time, glue orange tissue paper onto the penguin’s beak and feet. Cover a section with glue, crinkle up pieces of tissue paper one by one and stick them to the glue.
Next cover the body of the penguin with black tissue paper, leaving the face and stomach white. Again work in small sections, first covering the paper with glue and then sticking the tissue paper to the glue.
Cut the tissue paper into smaller pieces as needed to fit into small spaces on the printable.
Once you’re done you can leave your penguin as is or cut out around the penguin for a more finished look.
If so desired, glue the penguin to a piece of blue paper for a nice background.
Now your cute penguin is complete!

Instructions
- Download and print out the penguin printable.
- Cut pieces of black and orange tissue paper into small pieces
- One by one, cover each foot and beak with glue and stick crinkled orange tissue paper to the glue.
- Working in small sections, cover the body of the penguin with crinkled black tissue paper. First put a layer of glue and then stick the tissue paper to the glue, leaving the area around the face and the stomach white.
- Cut out your penguin if you so desire. You can also glue it to colored paper for more striking background.
