Easy Winter Mittens Craft for Kids

This craft is so easy to make using the free printable template and a few supplies you probably already have around your house. And the end result is a cute pair of mittens that kids can proudly display or hang as an ornament on the Christmas tree.

Kids will have a blast getting creative with this cozy winter craft!

Winter Mittens Craft

Materials

• Winter mittens craft template (available for download below)
• Colored paper
• Tissue paper
• Glue
• Scissors

Instructions

Let’s get to work making these cute mittens!

First, download and print out the winter mittens craft template, which you can find at the bottom of this page.

Pick which design you want to make. We have the option to make either heart mittens or snowflake mittens. There is also a blank template included that you can use to make your own pattern if you’re feeling extra creative!

Take tissue paper in a color of your choice and cut it into small squares (approximately 1″ x 1″).

Cover one of the mitten cuffs in glue, then crinkle up pieces of tissue paper and stick them to the clue until the cuff is covered.

Do the same with the other cuff and each of the hearts/snowflakes. Leave the mittens blank.

Cut out all of the pieces from the template.

Trace the mitten templates onto colored paper and cut them out.

Glue the cuffs onto the bottom of the mittens and the hearts/snowflakes to the center of the mittens.

Finally, take a piece of yarn and glue or tape the ends to the back of each mitten.

And now your mitten craft is complete!

Kids can get creative with this craft, changing the design and colors however they see fit!

It also makes an adorable ornament to hand on the Christmas tree.
