Materials

  • Whale craft template (available for download below)
  • Colored paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Instructions

First, download and print out the free whale craft template, which you can find at the bottom of this page.

Next, cut out the pieces of the template.

Next, trace the whale body and fins onto blue paper and cut out the pieces. If desired, trace the belly of the whale onto colored paper as well. We chose to leave it white, using the original piece from the template.

Now you’re going to glue the belly piece to the body of the whale.

If desired, use a pen to draw the textured lines onto the belly of the whale.

Now glue the eyes and fins onto the whale.

Use a pen to draw a mouth on your whale.

For the whale’s spout, trace the water piece from the template onto a different shade of blue from the whale.

Cut it out and glue to the top of the whale to make it look like the whale is spouting water.

And that’s it for your cute whale craft! Hopefully you enjoy this craft as part of an ocean-themed learning unit or just a fun craft to complete at home.
