Horse Tissue Paper Craft

Materials

  • Horse craft template (available for download below)
  • Tissue paper
  • Colored paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Instructions

First, download and print out the free horse craft template, which you can find at the bottom of this page.

Next, let’s make the horse’s hair! (Note that for an easier version, you can trace and cut the hair parts onto colored paper or just color with markers.)

Cut out pieces of tissue paper in small square in whatever color you want the horse’s hair to be.

One by one, cover the mane, forelock, and tail in glue, crinkle up pieces of tissue paper, and glue them to the paper. Don’t worry if the tissue paper goes outside of the lines a bit because you will be cutting around the edges.

Now cut out all of the pieces of the template.

Now trace the pieces of the horse onto colored paper of your choice and cut them out. We chose dark brown for the horse and tan for the nose and inside of the ears.

Glue the nose, inner ears, and eyes onto the horse’s body.

Now, use a marker to draw lines between the horses legs and for the curve of it’s stomach. Use a color similar to the horse’s body.

Now use a black marker to draw the horse’s mouth, nostrils, and hooves.

Finally, glue the tail, forelock, and mane onto the horse’s body.

And that completes your adorable horse craft.

\We thought the final product turned out so cute, perfect to make for a farm-themed learning unit or just for fun!
