  • Markers or colored pencils
  • Scissors

Instructions

First, download and print the unicorn craft template from the link at the bottom of this page.

Cut out the unicorn face, mouth, and ear pieces from the template.

Trace the unicorn face onto a paper plate and cut it out.

Next, trace the mouth and the heart-shaped centers of the ears onto pink paper and cut them out.

Glue the mouth to the bottom of the plate so that the curve is facing up, aligning it with the bottom edge of the plate. Trim off any extra. Attach the heart-shaped centers to the white outer ears and set them aside.

Color the unicorn horn with markers or colored pencils.

Cut colorful tissue paper into small pieces.

Apply glue to one section of the unicorn’s mane, crinkle a piece of tissue paper, and stick it to the mane. Keep going until the mane is covered in colorful tissue paper. For an easier version, you can simply color the mane instead.

Once finished, cut out the unicorn horn and mane pieces.

Glue the mane piece to the left side of the unicorn’s face. Attach the ears to either side of the unicorn’s head.

Glue the forelock to the top of the unicorn’s head, just above the ears, and attach the horn at the top.

Finally, use a black pen to draw the unicorn’s mouth, nose, and eyes.

And there you have it—your very own magical unicorn, brought to life with colorful tissue paper and a paper plate!

This craft is not only a fun and creative activity for kids of all ages, but it also makes for a wonderful keepsake or party decoration.
