Palm Tree Craft
Materials
- Palm tree craft template (available for download below)
- Colored paper (green, brown, tan)
- Brown paint
- Fork
- Scissors
- Glue
Instructions
Download and print the free palm tree craft template from the bottom of this page.
Cut out all the pieces from the template.
Trace the trunk onto tan or light brown paper.
Dip a fork in brown paint and press it onto the tree trunk in crisscross patterns until the entire trunk is covered. Let it dry.
While the trunk dries, trace and cut out four or five leaves from green paper. If you want coconuts, trace and cut out four or five coconuts from brown paper.
Cut out the trunk piece.
Glue the leaves to the top of the trunk.
If making a coconut palm, glue the coconuts at the base of the leaves on top of the trunk. If you prefer a different type of palm tree, you can leave off the coconuts. (We used this craft for a doum palm tree in our Egypt learning unit!)

Instructions
- Download and print the palm tree craft template.
- Cut out all template pieces.
- Trace the trunk onto tan or light brown paper.
- Dip a fork in brown paint. Press the fork onto the trunk in crisscross patterns. Let it dry.
- Trace and cut out four or five leaves from green paper. Trace and cut out four or five coconuts from brown paper if using.
- Cut out the trunk piece.
- Glue leaves to the top of the trunk.
- For a coconut palm, glue coconuts at the base of the leaves. Leave out coconuts for other palm tree types.
