“Owl Always Love You” Card Craft for Kids to Gift

It’s perfect for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Valentine’s Day, or any time you want to say “I love you!”

Owl Card Craft for Kids

Materials

  • Owl card craft template
  • Colored paper (Light brown, dark brown, tan, yellow)
  • Markers or colored pencils
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Instructions

Now let’s jump in and make this sweet owl card craft!

First, download and print out the owl card template. To get the template, scroll to the bottom of this page and enter your email address into the form to have the template send to your email.

Now you’re going to color in the heart that says “Owl Always Love You” with a marker or pen in a color of your choice.

Cut out all of the pieces of the template.

Next it’s time to trace the template pieces onto colored paper. First, trace the (double) owl body template onto light brown paper and cut it out.

Now trace the owl’s feet and beak onto yellow paper and cut out the pieces.

Finally, trace the wing template onto dark brown paper and the eye outline onto tan paper. Cut those pieces out as well.

Now that all of your pieces are cut out, it’s time assemble your owl.

First, fold the two sides of the owl body together to for the card.

Next, glue the owl’s eyes onto the tan outline.

Glue the eyes onto the owl body, then glue the beak just below the eyes.

Now glue on the feet by placing a little bit of glue at the top of the feet and then attaching them to the back of the owl’s body. Then glue the heart to the middle of the owl’s body.

Glue the wings onto the owl’s sides, arranging them so that they look like they are holding the heart.

Now that your card is finished, it’s time to personalize it by writing a message inside!

The great thing about this craft is that you can use it for many different occasions, from Mother’s Day and Father’s Day to Valentine’s Day or birthdays. It’s a perfect way for a child to show a loved one how much they care!

Instructions

  1. Download and print out the owl card template.
  2. Color the heart on the template in a color of your choice.
  3. Trace the template pieces onto colored paper and cut out: trace the owl body onto light brown paper, the beak and feet onto yellow paper, the wings onto dark brown paper, and the eye outline onto tan paper.
  4. Fold the two sides of the owl body together to make the card.
  5. Glue the eyes onto the eye outline, then glue the eyes and outline onto the owl's body and the nose just below the eyes.
  6. Next, glue the feet to the body by placing glue on the top of the feet and attaching them to the back of the body.
  7. Now glue the heart to the center of the owl's body and glue the wings to the sides of the owl's body, overlapping them over the heart so it looks like the owl is holding it.
  8. Finish the card by writing a thoughtful message inside!
