Super Simple Heart Tissue Paper Craft

If you’re looking for an easy project that is low-stress but keeps little hands happily busy, this tissue paper heart craft is for you!

Kids will love scrunching up bits of vibrant pieces of tissue paper and gluing them inside a heart outline to create a beautiful, textured heart.

It’s a fantastic sensory activity for preschoolers and a great way for elementary-aged kids to work on their fine motor coordination.

Heart Tissue Paper Craft

Materials

  • Heart craft template (available at the bottom of this page)
  • Tissue paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors

Instructions

First, download and print out the heart craft template, which you can find at the bottom of this page.

Take colorful tissue paper and cut it into small pieces (roughly 2″x2″ squares).

Crinkle up pieces of tissue paper and glue them inside the heart outline.

We found it easiest to place a thin layer of glue over a section of the heart and cover it with tissue paper, then move on to the next section.

Continue until the entire heart is covered in colorful tissue paper.

At this point, you can leave your heart the way it is or you can cut it out.

If you want to make the layered heart version, glue a different color to each section of the heart.

And when you’re done you have a beautiful hearts to use a lovely Valentine’s decoration or to gift to someone special!

  • Heart craft template
  • Tissue paper

Instructions

  1. Download and print out the heart craft template.
  2. Cut pieces of colorful tissue paper into 2"x2" squares.
  3. Cover a section of the heart template with glue. Crinkle up pieces of tissue paper and stick them to the glue.
  4. Continue until the heart is covered in tissue paper.
  5. Cut out around the outside of the heart.
