I’m excited to share a unique and fun fall-themed project: a fork painting acorn craft!
This delightful activity is perfect for kids of all ages and uses a simple yet creative technique to make crisscross patterns on the top of the acorn using a fork. It’s simple enough that it makes a great toddler and preschool craft!
With our free template, your little ones can easily create their own charming acorns, making it a great addition to any autumn or nature-themed craft session.
Acorn Fork Painting Craft
Materials
- Acorn craft template (available for download below)
- Brown and pink paper
- Brown paint
- Scissors
- Glue
Instructions
First, download at print out the acorn craft printable template, which you can find at the bottom of this page.
Squeeze some brown paint onto your palette or paper plate and dip your fork into the paint. Press your fork onto the top piece of the acorn template in rows with all the lines going in one direction. Continue until the top of the acorn is covered.
Now dip the fork in paint and press it onto the acorn top template going in the other direction to make a crisscross pattern. Leave the acorn top to dry.
Cut out all the pieces of the template.
Trace the bottom of the acorn and stem onto brown paper and cut them out.
Trace the cheek circles onto pink paper and cut out.
Now we’ll assemble out acorn!
Glue the top of the acorn onto the bottom of the acorn.
Glue the eyes and cheeks on the acorn’s face. Use a marker to draw a mouth on your acorn.
Finally, glue the stem to the top of the acorn.
Now your adorable acorn craft is complete!
