Materials

  • Pig paper plate craft template (available for download below)
  • Paper plates (2)
  • Pink paint (and white if you need to dilute it)
  • Pink paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Black pen

Instructions

First, download and print out the pig craft template at the bottom of this page.

Then, paint two paper plates pink and let them dry. If your pink paint is a little too bright, you can mix in some white paint to soften it up.

While the plates are drying, cut out all the pieces from the template.

Trace the nose, cheek spots, and inner ears onto pink paper. Pick a shade that’s different from your painted plates to make these details stand out.

Cut the rim off one of your paper plates so you’re left with just the inner circle.

Use the other paper plate to trace and cut out the outer ear shapes twice.

Glue the inner ear pieces onto the base of the outer ears.

Attach the nose, eyes, and cheek spots to the pig’s face. Glue the ears to the top of the head.

Finish your pig by drawing on the nostrils and mouth with a black pen.

And there you have it—a delightful pig paper plate craft that’s perfect for a farm learning unit or just a fun, creative activity with the kids!
