  • Scissors
  • Pipe cleaner

Instructions

First, download and print out the kite craft template—just scroll to the bottom of this page to find it.

Next, cut out pieces of tissue paper in various colors to design your kite just the way you like it.

Now, it’s time to start decorating! Take it one section at a time: cover an area of the template with glue, crumple up your tissue paper pieces, and stick them onto the glue.

Keep going until your entire kite is covered in colorful tissue paper.

Once the tissue paper is in place, carefully cut out the kite along the template lines.

For the string, tape or glue a pipe cleaner to the back of the kite. Trim the pipe cleaner to the length you want.

If you’d like, use the leftover bit of pipe cleaner to make a cute bow to attach to the bottom of your pipe cleaner “string.”
