Mother’s Day Flower Craft for Kids

Looking for a unique and meaningful Mother’s Day gift that kids can actually make themselves? This printable flower craft is the perfect solution! It transforms simple paper flowers into a beautiful bouquet filled with personalized messages of love, making it much more special than a standard card.

Our free template makes it easy! Each flower center provides a starting point – “I love my mom because…” or “My favorite things to do with my mom are…” – prompting kids to think about what makes their mom great. They write their answers on the petals, and once assembled, these individual flowers come together to form a vibrant bouquet that celebrates Mom in a truly personal way, perfect for kids from preschool on up.

Instructions

Let’s get to work making this personalized Mother’s Day craft!

First, download and print out the flower craft template, which you can get by scrolling down to the bottom of this page and entering your email into the form.

Once you have your template, color in the middles of all the flowers right over the top of the words. We chose to color ours yellow, but you can use any color (just make sure it’s light enough to still be able to read the text).

Cut out all of the pieces of the template.

Take the petal template and trace it onto colored paper. Each flower can have about five or six petals, so trace the number of petals that you want.

Cut out the petals.

Now comes the fun part! On each petal, have your child write one thing about their mom, completing the phrase from the center of the flower. Be sure to write on the larger part of the petal so that the writing will be visible after you glue it to the center of the flower.

Use glue to attach the petals to the back of the flower center piece.

Take your popsicle sticks and color them green using a green marker or paint.

Attach the flower to the popsicle stick using glue or tape.

Trace the leaf template onto green paper and cut out the pieces.

Use glue to attach the leaves to the back of the popsicle stick.

And now your lovely flower craft is complete!

This is such a fun and simple craft that kids will love making and mom will love receiving for Mother’s Day!

It allows children to reflect on all of the things they love about their mom. And on Mother’s Day, mom will be so touched to receive this thoughtful, personalized bouquet!
